Pesticide Analysis

Pesticide Analysis:

The rate of pesticide breakdown following application varies widely. As a result, pesticide residues can remain on food as well as in soil and water. Health Canada, the Pesticide Management Regulatory Agency and Environment Canada have various regulations governing pesticide use and allowable residue limits in food and the environment. Maximum residue limits (mrl’s) have been established for foods in Canada. Most other countries have equivalent programs whereby they limit pesticide residues in imported foods. Testing food product reduces the risk of having the food rejected for distribution in Canada or for export to another country. Exova can provide Pesticide Analysis for a variety of pesticides in soil, water and food.

Fertilizer Analysis:

Fertilizers may be tested to determine the nutrient content of an unknown material or to determine how closely a product or product blend matches the reported concentrations. Exova is accredited to perform analysis for the Canadian Fertilizer Quality Assurance Program (CFQAP) under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
